Love in Toronto

It was a winter’s day in January, quite cloudy.

I was in the train going to Dupont station and there was a blond middle age woman alone, reading a book in front of me.

When the train stopped at St. George station, a man entered the train and seated close to the woman. He looked older, at random… long beard, messy hair and dirty pants. I would say he was a beggar.

After a glimpse of time, the woman recognized the man and said his name loud, very emotional.

Surprised they stared each other in quite a deep way. She asked him where had he been during last years. He said he’d quit the job time ago. No words after that.

They both stood up and hug each other like nobody was watching (and I guess nobody was really paying attention but me).

The train stopped at Spadina. Their eyes communicated and they left the train running like kids.

Out of the train, they hug each other again. I could not take my eyes off them.

The train started to move and I could not see the couple no more.
