Last.FM

Last.Fm describes itself as “the social music revolution”. Indeed, I must agree.

I was introduced to this radio by a DJ friend of mine, member of Last.Fm team in London and contributor to Flavorpill LDN.

First you have to sign up to create a free profile. Then you can start by typing the name of your favorite artist.

Last.Fm will create a radio station based on your taste, and you can listen to your music with your computer’s music player or your iPod.

Every song you listen to will become part of your music profile and you are able to create personal music charts, find musical soulmates, generate your own personal radio station and see what your friends are listening to.

Since I’ve signed up, I spent hours surfing on the site, listening my favourite music and the best part - discovering new good music! They are right when they say “Last.fm radio learns what you like and gets better.”

I’ve always been a big fan of the classic rock music, specially the Brit bands - The Clash, The Cure, Devo,The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, etc - but I feel a bit depressed in Brazil because most people are stuck in the past and have no ideia about the new generation of bands.

You can easily find “new” good music at Last.Fm and MySpace.

Search for the bands profile and you will be usually able to watch videoclips, download free MP3 tracks and even read the band’s blogs.

Enjoy!
