It’s quite complicated to find a great TV show here in Italy; ok, not only in Italy - everywhere else but in the UK.
There is a TV channel named QOOB, a kind of MTV but much more experimentalist. The great thing about QOOB is that the ads are short movies and animation, most of them French, from young artists.
One of my favourites is The Other Half, by Nick Scott, graduated from the London Academy of Film and TV.
It’s about two ex-lovers reminiscing about their relationship, whilst nostalgically revisiting the places that hold shared memories. Considering their time together making them reconsider the reasons why they fell apart.
According to Nick, “the actors in the film were a couple in real life when we shot the film but have since broken up, and neither of them can really watch it!” Curious, isn’t it?
Filmed in an old super8 camera, I loved it!
Last Friday I saw the movie Miss Potter, with Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor – both among my favorite actors.
The movie is very beautiful. It is about Miss Helen Beatrix Potter, an English book author and illustrator, born in Kensington, London in 1866.
The best thing in this movie is that it captures the perfect atmosphere of Miss Potter’s world and the point of view of a child. I saw myself having some thoughts that I used to have when I was a child - giving names to all the animals, imagining them at their “homes” and “families” like they were humans.

The Perfect Human is the perfect film.
I got in touch with this piece of art when my hubby and I were at Pablo’s house in Buenos Aires in September.
First, he introduced me the The Five Obstructions, a reconstruction of Jorgen Leth’s 1967 work The Perfect Human - the original title is Det Perfekte Menneske.
Then, we watched the 1967 black and white film.
