Ok Go!

Last week a dear friend from Korea (living in London) sent me an email with a video clip from the band OK Go.

Ok Go is an American indie rock band from Chicago - and one of my favorite bands.

The video is very cool, featuring the band dancing on treadmills to the single “Here It Goes Again” from the “Oh No” Album.

The Old Man

At the doctor, in the waiting room, it’s early morning. A couple is seated on a sofa. The man is carrying their little, crying baby. Nurses are walking around and a cleaner that has entered the room, says “good morning” and puts more coffee in the cofee machine. A young lady is reading a book, next to the window. There is a door in the room.

An old man and his son are in the center of the room. The old man is seated on a two seat sofa and the son is standing besides him, in the left side. A wheelchair is right behind them.

The son - Father, you have to drink some water before doing the exam.

Old Man - Why they are taking so long to call me?

Miss Potter

Last Friday I saw the movie Miss Potter, with Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor – both among my favorite actors. Tailor Mouse

The movie is very beautiful. It is about Miss Helen Beatrix Potter, an English book author and illustrator, born in Kensington, London in 1866.

The best thing in this movie is that it captures the perfect atmosphere of Miss Potter’s world and the point of view of a child. I saw myself having some thoughts that I used to have when I was a child - giving names to all the animals, imagining them at their “homes” and “families” like they were humans.

Silly Poem

Morrer de amor? Não.
Besteira dos exagerados.

Difícil é suportar a dor
De perceber os cacos

Que se transformou
A história dos amados

Dizer a quem te amou
O que sente – sem correspondente

This is a silly poem I wrote yesterday (in portuguese).

Alone in the Crowd

My hubby gave me a book this week, about Maysa. Unfortunatelly the book is not yet for sale at Amazon.com. The only way to get in touch with the story is buying the book at a brazilian book store, like Livraria Culturaand read it in portuguese.

Maysa was a brazilian singer and composer from the 50’s, already dead. I spent the last two days reading this marvelous book, totally immersed into her life’s story.

Love in Toronto

It was a winter’s day in January, quite cloudy.

I was in the train going to Dupont station and there was a blond middle age woman alone, reading a book in front of me.

When the train stopped at St. George station, a man entered the train and seated close to the woman. He looked older, at random… long beard, messy hair and dirty pants. I would say he was a beggar.

The Perfect Human

The Perfect Human is the perfect film.

I got in touch with this piece of art when my hubby and I were at Pablo’s house in Buenos Aires in September.

First, he introduced me the The Five Obstructions, a reconstruction of Jorgen Leth’s 1967 work The Perfect Human - the original title is Det Perfekte Menneske.

Then, we watched the 1967 black and white film.

I Monster

First time I’ve heard I Monster was in the BBC Program Changing Rooms.

It was playing Daydream in Blue and I was impressed with that song. I went fast to google to find what band was responsible for that sound.

Videoclips… no way. I found one in you tube a few days ago but it was removed.

I Monster is a british electronic group. They formed in 1997, but it was not until 2001 that they released their first single, Daydream in Blue.

There’s not a bunch of material of the band, you can find some in their website which by the way has a very conceptual and cool design.

Enjoy the video Hey Mrs!
